EB means Earthen Buildings that employ mud walls or masonry units that are made with unstabilised mud-like adobe blocks, sun-dried clay bricks, etc, laid in a mud mortar. (NBC 204: 1994)

•NZS 4297 (1998) has limited scope of earthen wall building as adobe, pressed brick, poured earth or rammed earth and which contain clay and silt and which rely on the clay and silt particles present to achieve satisfactory performance with or without chemical stabilization.
